ZIONIST JUSTICE !
Israeli court sentences Aqsa journalist to one year in jail

AL-KHALIL, (PIC)-- The Israeli Ofer military court has sentenced correspondent of the Aqsa TV satellite channel Mohammed Ezzat Al-Halayka to one-year imprisonment term after it accused him of working with an "enemy" TV channel.
The court also fined Halayka, 25, who hails from the West Bank city of Al-Khalil , 1,200 US dollars in addition to the imprisonment term.
Halayka was arrested by the IOF troops last December, on charges he was "working with a Hamas-owned TV channel".The Palestinian journalist was also arrested by the PA security apparatuses under the command PA chief Mahmoud Abbas, and was humiliated at the hands of the PA intelligence elements prior to his arrest by the Israelis.
For its part, the Palestinian journalist bloc (PJB) immediately condemned the court's ruling, describing the jail sentence as "a continuation of the Israeli occupation government's arrogance and a desperate attempt with the aim to conceal the IOF troops' crimes against the Palestinian people".
In this regard, the PJB called on the "civilized" world to immediately intervene in order to stop the Israeli "suppression" of the Palestinian people's right to express their opinions which, the bloc asserted, flagrantly violates international laws and conventions.
The Palestinian center for the defense of prisoners described the ruling as a "crime" that is added to the series of the Israeli crimes against the Palestinian people.
In a statement it issued on the matter and a copy of which was obtained by the PIC, the human rights center asserted that the ruling against Halayka was part of the Israeli aggression against "everything Palestinian", underlining, however, that no matter what measures the Israeli occupation government would take against the Palestinian media outlets and Palestinian journalists, it wouldn’t be able to silence the Palestinian voice.
Last month, the IOF troops killed Reuters cameraman in Gaza Fadel Shana'a who was covering the IOF troops' aggression on eastern Gaza city when an Israeli tank deliberately targeted and killed him.

   WE NEED YOUR HELP !

Assalamu Alaikum to all

I have been in contact with Dr.Cathy Graham, Head of False Bay  Hospital, and Dr. Yusuf Jano medical manager of South Peninsula Day Hospitals. They are responsible for the clinics at Soetwater and Youngsfield refugee camps.

They have asked the IMA to assist with providing medical support to  Youngsfield - this is in addition to the support already being  supplied to Soetwater. After meeting with Dr. Jano at Youngsfield on  Sunday, it was decided that a doctor is needed for one hour  (initially) during the day up till about 3pm and for 2 hours on Saturday  and Sunday. We were hoping that GPs or other doctors could avail  themselves for this during their lunchtimes during the week and when free over weekends.

In addition we still need to continue to provide  the service at Soetwater. There is a possibilty that two further camps may need assistance in the near
future  We will keep you posted.

Please forward this request on to anyone you think may be available.  We desperately need more man power to make this endeavour more  sustainable and not to overstretch our already limited human resources.

Please contact Tougheeda at the IMA office (021 762 1414/079 612 9592) to put your name on the roster.

Your assistance is much appreciated and may you be abundantly  rewarded, Insha Allah.

Irshad Moosa

Press Statement:

Some 60 years ago the convergence of interests led to the creation of the State of Israel. This illegitimate child of Western guilt and American interests was delivered into the world by an arrogant British midwife.

This month Israel remembers its dead from their so-called “War of Independence”. They choose to forget the Palestinian casualties and the thousands of displaced people that resulted from their forceful seizure of this land. Their celebrations of their “democracy” echoes painfully around the world and wrenches the hearts of just minded people everywhere.

Currently the people of Palestine live in poverty, in segregated homelands and are further divided by western interference in their political affairs. Manipulation of world opinion by western media and political leaders produces a distorted picture of events. Ongoing selfish interests using religion to twist the truth are used –increasingly by both sides. This has led to levels of complexity that make easy quick fix solutions impossible.

Surely the children of Palestine would like to see a future before them filled with hope and opportunity. Surely the civilized world should demand justice for these children and their families.  But Gaza and its ongoing tragedy tells the story of how civilized world leaders really are. Poor people with limited resources are restricted from free movement between their homes and places of work. Health needs of the society are neglected and even the access to emergency care is difficult. Whilst, over the wall Israelis party late into the night and openly relish their victims suffering.

The time has come for a civilized, compassionate world to demand that people of all nationalities, colour, social background and religion are equal. That an African has the same right to happiness as an American. That a Palestinian child has an opportunity to pursue his dreams as freely as an Israeli or European.
That solution requires us all to suspend our narrow selfish interest for the common good, to engage with society to uplift it and to love others as much as we do, ourselves.

For us as Muslims this is an imperative, we cannot ignore. For all of us it is the only thing that will separate us from the savages we currently seem to be.
