NETWORKING
Working relationships and partnerships have been developed with relevant community leaders, organizations and institutions both locally and nationally.
MAP is also part of the Interfaith HIV/AIDS initiatives. We believe that working together will make a difference.
AIDS AWARENESS & TRAINING
One – day workshops are offered and cover issues such as attitudes towards AIDS and People living with AIDS (PLWA), facts and myths about HIV/AIDS, sexuality, death and dying. Specific workshops are offered on the following:

Pre-and
Post-test Counseling (Knowing your rights)
VCT (voluntary
counseling and testing)
HIV/AIDS
in the Workplace
COUNSELING AND SUPPORT
The Muslim Aids Programme provides the following counseling services to people infected and affected with HIV/AIDS:
VCT, Pre – Post Test Counseling,
Individual/couple and family counseling, and support groups for people living with HIV/AIDS.
A faith-based approach is promoted through counseling where the main focus is on building Support and Living Positively.
VOLUNTEERS
MAP also uses volunteers who support the programme in many ways. They are committed women who have offered their time and resources to make a difference in our communities. We have an intake of ten volunteers who are trained to support the various activities of MAP.

We offer a lifeskills programme to both primary and high school learners. This programme covers issues such
self-concept
enhancement, attitudes and AIDS facts,
sex
and sexuality, communication skills,
drug
and alcohol abuse, and
empowerment
of the youth to make more informed choices.
The abstinence programme is
offered to grade 7 and high school learners. The programme promotes
abstinence to prevent HIV/AIDS and focus on healthy relationships, pre-marital
sex and consequences, why abstinence and media literacy.
